Become a Gym Instructor, Enjoy a Fitness Boost
You’re fit as a fiddle, bulkier than Hulk Hogan in his prime, and a better cook than Gordon Ramsay – don’t you want to share your knowledge with the world?
Private gyms are attracting more members than ever, partly thanks to a proliferation of budget deals and a newfound respect for a healthy lifestyle. Many folks the world over have recently become fitness fanatics and it’s pushing the demand for private gym instructors to a record high.
Wouldn’t it be a dream job to teach people your favorite workout routine and have them shell out for the privilege? For the gym freak in all of us, it would be – but there’s more to the job than simply rocking up to a gym and flexing your physique to the manager.
In order to be a perfect instructor, you’ll have to know a thing or two beyond your personal workout regime.
Everyone’s body type differs, and they’ll require different dietary and workout plans to make the most of their body. Some won’t be able to develop muscle quickly, some will be thinner than a stick insect and others will look like Mr. Blobby after a trip to a cake shop. All, however, will need your expertise and undivided attention.
Get the Knowledge
There are plenty of gym instructor courses online that can teach you all the tips and tricks you need to become a fully qualified trainer. These courses are specially designed to give you a diversity of knowledge, a solid foundation on which you can build bespoke courses and dietary regimes for your clients.
Apart from that, completing a course will allow you to curry favour with gym managers. When you throw a bona fide qualification their way, their interest will pique.

Stay Fit
Once you’ve got your qualification, one factor about becoming a gym instructor is vital. You are your own billboard, meaning you have to stay as aesthetically impressive as possible. Realistically, would you trust Johnny Vegas or Jo Brand to keep you trim? The answer is no, and the reason is self-evident.
Make sure you’re in the prime of fitness at all times, and keep your hair and skin in decent nick.
Beyond that, the world is your oyster. You can choose to ply your trade in a local gym, a park, your home, or the home of your clients. All this depends on how seriously you’re taking your fitness calling.
Some people decide they want to use their exercising knowledge for some extra pocket money, doing it on the side as a way to keep themselves fit as well as their clients. Others go for broke, taking a full-time post at a private gym and gaining a wealth of different clients.
The choice is yours. If you’re passionate about fitness then take up the profession.
